The pioneering 1001Fontaines model is based on social and sustainable entrepreneurship and enables local production of safe drinking water, thus ensuring the communities' autonomy. Objectives

TO RELIEVE POVERTY, SICKNESS AND POOR HEALTH OF THE PUBLIC, AND TO PROTECT THE HEALTH OF THE PUBLIC, INCLUDING BY: (I) PROVIDING AND IMPROVING SAFE DRINKING WATER SUPPLIES IN AREAS OF THE WORLD WHERE IT IS NEEDED (AND PARTICULARLY IN REMOTE OR ISOLATED COMMUNITIES); (II) PROVIDING EDUCATION IN SUCH AREAS OF THE WORLD IN RELATION TO THE IMPORTANCE OF SAFE DRINKING WATER, PARTICULARLY IN RESPECT OF HEALTH AND HYGIENE; AND (III) PROVIDING SUPPORT AND EDUCATION IN SUCH AREAS OF THE WORLD IN RELATION TO THE DEVELOPMENT, MAINTENANCE AND SUSTAINABILITY OF SUPPLIES OF SAFE DRINKING WATER. IT IS CURRENTLY ENVISAGED THAT THE CIO WILL PROVIDE ASSISTANCE IN AREAS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO CAMBODIA, MYANMAR, MADAGASCAR AND VIETNAM.
