Objectives

TO PROMOTE EDUCATION IN BRITAIN AND PAKISTAN BY RAISING PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING ABOUT PRESSING SOCIAL AND INTELLECTUAL CHALLENGES IN PAKISTAN, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY:(A) PUBLIC LECTURES AND PANEL DISCUSSIONS, INCLUDING INVITED DISCUSSANTS THAT WILL HAVE BALANCED BUT CRITICAL EVALUATION OF SOCIAL AND INTELLECTUAL CHALLENGES. VIDEO, AUDIO RECORDINGS OR TRANSCRIPTS OF THE LECTURES AND PANEL DISCUSSIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE CIO'S WEBSITE.(B) REPORTS BASED ON ACADEMIC RESEARCH AND BOOK REVIEWS WILL BE PUBLISHED MAKING IT ACCESSIBLE TO GENERAL PUBLIC AND WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE.(C) OTHER ACTIVITIES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO CONTRIBUTE IN THE PUBLIC DISCOURSE AND FOR THE DISSEMINATION OF ACADEMIC RESEARCH, PUBLICATIONS AND OTHER SOURCES OF KNOWLEDGE. ACADEMIC RESEARCH WILL BE CARRIED OUT.(D) TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAMMES IN UK AND PAKISTAN. TEACHER TRAINING MATERIAL WILL BE DEVELOPED WITH THE HELP OF ACADEMICS, SCHOOLTEACHERS AND TEACHER EDUCATORS TO TRAIN SCHOOLTEACHERS.
