SERENITY SOCIAL AND THERAPEUTIC HORTICULTURE (SSTH)

THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: (1) TO RELIEVE SICKNESS AND PROMOTE AND PROTECT HEALTH WITHIN DARLINGTON AND THE SURROUNDING AREA THROUGH THE PROVISION OF THERAPEUTIC HORTICULTURE TO THOSE WITH, OR VULNERABLE TO, MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS AND TO PROTECT PHYSICAL HEALTH THROUGH ENCOURAGING HORTICULTURE-RELATED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY; AND (2) TO PROVIDE OR ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF INDIVIDUALS RESIDENT IN DARLINGTON AND THE SURROUNDING AREA WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE.
