FRIENDS FOR FAMILIES (SEVENOAKS)

We aim to help relieve the poverty of families with children within the local district. We work with Children?s Services to help families they identify as not having the resources to provide themselves with the normal things of life that most people may take for granted. We provide items, services and facilities in order to bring the quality of life of the beneficiaries to a reasonable standard.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • The charity has received modest backing from several prominent grant makers recently
  • There has been strong growth in spending since inception
  • There have been no income shortfalls in recent years
  • The Board appears to be dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Although this charity works with volunteers it does not have a Volunteer Management policy
  • Why is the Board completely female?
  • Over half the Board have joined recently

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
