CLASSICAL SHEFFIELD

Classical Sheffield is a local charity committed to championing music makers and music making across the city of Sheffield. As part of this work Classical Sheffield promotes a major bi-annual festival the Classical Weekend.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • This charity has been successful in attracting volunteers relative to its size
  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers including the Government
  • The Board appears to be well diversified in terms of gender and dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Although this charity works with volunteers it does not have a Volunteer Management policy
  • Returns have been filed late on 3 occasions over the last 5 years and the current period appears to have been extended

Financial issues to consider:

  • Spending has fallen significantly over the last 5 years relative to the previous period but has stabilised more recently
  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
