The organisation will work with people who have experienced homelessness children from a local school and older people to produce these events which will celebrate the last 70 years of Torbay’s cultural history and Her Majesty’s reign.

UCD is currently run by volunteers to reach out to people who have experienced homelessness, some form of severe addiction or profound mental health issues. Community drama workshops help to build skills, confidence and connections by providing meaningful day and evening activities that engage via a shared interest in the creative arts. The funding will be used to deliver drama and community choir sessions, and a minimum of 2 public performances and support 4 neighbourhood community events and deliver an annual Community Drama Trip for participants and volunteers. Funding will enable them to employ new staff and cover project delivery costs in order to support the increase in demand and number of referrals being received.
