CAMBRIDGE YOUTH OPERA

CYO works with young people to create age appropriate productions to the highest standard, covering a full range of performance and production activities. Many young people who take part have never experienced opera before. We cultivate the arts as a natural part of daily life, and grow the confidence of our participants. We are an open access organisation. We do not charge for participation.

1.TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE AGED BETWEEN 4-30 IN CAMBRIDGE AND THE SURROUNDING AREA IN THE OPERATIC ARTS THROUGH GIVING THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE ALL THE ELEMENTS THAT GO INTO STAGING AN OPERA;2.TO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH LEISURE TIME ACTIVITIES, SO AS TO DEVELOP THEIR CAPABILITIES THAT THEY MAY GROW TO FULL MATURITY AS INDIVIDUALS AND MEMBERS OF SOCIETY.
