BRIGHTON AND HOVE FAITH IN ACTION

The BHFA supports faith groups that deliver social welfare and community building projects in the city of Brighton and Hove.We achieve this by running partnerships between different faith groups that deliver similar services so that they operate more efficiently. We also act as an advocate for faith groups to secular authorities, promoting and defending the rights of faith groups.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • There has been strong growth in spending over the last 5 years
  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers including the Government
  • The Board appears to be dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • One or more trustees receive payments or benefits from the charity for providing services to the charity
  • The Board is predominantly male

Financial issues to consider:

  • Income has been volatile and on several occasions in recent years less than spending
  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
