Yet there is often poor understanding among building owners about how to maintain them and recognise signs of trouble. This project began as a quick response to the HE fund for Covid mitigation. This recognised the complete loss of training work for many in our skills sector due to Covid restrictions and sought to transfer the knowledge, skills and materials of our existing trainers into a series of films. EBUKI has had to transfer some of its other ongoing projects learning activities into online formats and this has led to a growing appreciation of the potential of this medium, its opportunities and constraints, and this has informed this new proposal. We recognise that a move to online learning resources enables us to reach a wide audience that can be hard to each by other means, and we want to use this to target the people who look after up to half a million earth buildings in the UK, who currently have poor access to the basic knowledge that ensues the survival of so many historic buildings.
