CARERS WORLDWIDE

Mission:

Our mission is to enable carers, service providers, policy makers and other stakeholders to recognise and respond to the needs of carers in the developing world, ensuring balance and equal value is given to the needs of the carer and the person receiving care.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • The charity has received backing from several prominent grant makers recently
  • There has been strong growth in spending over the last 5 years
  • There have been no material income shortfalls in recent years
  • The Board appears to be well diversified in terms of age and dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Over half the Board have joined recently

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • Income was significantly lower than spending in the latest year
Comment by the Charity:
Governance issues to investigate: Until July 2021 our Board consisted of 5 members. In July 2021 two of the existing Board members stood down after serving the maximum permissible terms. In July 2021 we expanded our Board to 8 members and welcomed 5 new Trustees. Financial issues to investigate: This information is inaccurate. We have submitted full annual returns including independently examined annual accounts every year, including the most recent accounting period. These have always been submitted on time.
