TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF THE RETIRED IN THE AREA OF THE PARISH OF OLD COULSDON TOGETHER WITH SUCH PARTS OF COULSDON, PURLEY, KENLEY AND WHYTELEAFE AS FALL WITHIN A RADIUS OF 1.5 MILES OF THE CENTRE, IN A MANNER WHICH NOW IS OR HEREINAFTER MAY BE DEEMED BY LAW TO BE CHARITABLE BY ASSOCIATING WITH THE LOCAL AND OTHER STATUTORY AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS AND INHABITANTS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTEREST OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE RETIRED.
