The funding will be used to extend their existing ‘Thin Ice’ project which provides emergency accommodation and specialist support for those that find themselves homeless or vulnerable and/or experiencing food poverty over the winter months in Lowestoft and surrounding areas. The project will help meet the demand for support which has increased during the cost-of-living crisis and provide a warm café space.

The funding will cover staff and rental costs for the group's Thetford based project 'The Crossing'. Based above one of the group's two community cafe's the project offers support with issues such as housing mental health debt domestic abuse they aim to support independence through overcoming these barriers and move on into training and employment. Many who need the project do so because their lives are in crisis but the main aim is to avert the crisis by advocating for a person in rent arrears by supporting a person to upskill after redundancy or supporting people with confidence issues.
