Support will be given to mothers and their families, giving them opportunities to network with others, decreasing isolation and encouraging people to talk about their own situations and feelings associated with motherhood. There will also be a pre-birth course aimed specifically for teenagers, bringing young parents together to increase their network of support and confidence.

This three year project is an expansion of an existing project aiming to improve the confidence of parents and their ability to cope with difficult situations while increasing the knowledge and skills of new volunteers. Befrienders will visit and support families with their problems, linking with other agencies such as health visitors, Samaritans, MIND and Children's Centres to ensure that individual specialised needs are met. The group will be supporting parents with children up to age 13.
