FRANCO-BRITISH COUNCIL - BRITISH SECTION

The charity exists to promote constructive dialogue and better understanding between Britain and France and to contribute to the development of joint action through bringing together leading representatives of the worlds of culture, politics, defence, science, education and business. It does this through four main programmes: Young Leaders, Local Leaders, Defence and Entente Cordiale.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • There have been no material income shortfalls in recent years
  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers including the Government
  • The Board appears to be well diversified in terms of age and gender and dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Although this charity works with volunteers it does not have a Volunteer Management policy

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • Income has been volatile recently and was significantly lower than spending in the latest year
