    4 The organisation's purposes are: To advance the religion of Shia Islam and faith-based education and social welfare matters by providing: a) Cultural programs and activities to meet the needs of the community and to address their issues of concern to give Shia Muslims a source of representation. b) Opportunities to interact with public, statutory, voluntary, and charitable organisations for the purpose of furthering social harmony between the Shia Muslim community and the wider public. c) Lessons to help personal and individual development of young people, women, and other under-represented segments of the community to empower them and give them a platform to express their needs and requirements. d) Programs and activities for these groups to help them combat isolation and to give them opportunities to have a voice in the community.
