4.1 FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO PROVIDE A WIDE VARIED RANGE OF SERVICES TO SUPPORT, GUIDE, INFORM, STIMULATE AND COMFORT PEOPLE LIVING WITH DEMENTIA, THEIR CARERS AND FAMILIES IN THE UK BUT SCOTLAND IN PARTICULAR, BY PROVIDING SUCH SERVICES AS A TELEPHONE SUPPORT LINE, RUN BY VOLUNTEERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE OF COPING WITH DEMENTIA AND COMING TO TERMS WITH A LOVED ONE’S DIAGNOSIS BY PROVISION OF EMOTIONAL AND PRACTICAL SUPPORT, ADVICE, INFORMATION AND THE PROMOTION OF THIS TYPE OF SUPPORT WHICH WILL ASSIST BOTH THE VOLUNTEERS AND THOSE CALLING THE SERVICE
