    1. To assume ownership of the two paintings, donated to Cockbumspath in 1949 by Mrs. Marshall Brown and to effect a sale of the paintings in due course. 2. To create a fund to be known as the Cockbumspath Marshall Brown Trust Fund, and to invest the contents so as to produce growth and reasonable income. 3. To raise and receive money in order to initiate and to give financial support to any activities, which, in the estimation of the Trustees, will further the common good of Cockbumspath and District. In doing so, the Trustees are not empowered to erode the capital value of the Fund. 4. To make ex-gratia payments in confidence to local cases of hardship, necessity or need as the Trustees may think fit. 5. To act in accordance with any constitutional direction from the Annual General Meeting.
