The aim of this group is to reduce social isolation, promote positive wellbeing and enable them to develop trust and hope for the future whilst empowering women to make positive changes in their lives.It will be an open minded safe environment where women can come together and feel completely safe, heard and valued. Where they can share coping strategies, develop meaningful connections, give and receive empathy and understanding towards one another and step into their power whilst taking back their identity and building their self-esteem.Everything that we do will be underpinned by the 6 core values of peer support which is Experience in Common, Safety, Choice and Control, Two Way Interactions, Human Connection, Freedom to be Oneself.We intend to produce 2 peer support groups and they will run fortnightly (2 hour sessions) over a 1 year period. To improve wellbeing, all activities will be based on the evidence based 5 Ways to Wellbeing (Connect, Learn Take Notice, Give and Be Active).
