This 18-month project is for parents of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) from Black and Ethnic Minoritised communities living in Burnt Oak and Colindale, in the London borough of Barnet. It aims to provide parents of SEN children an opportunity to meet and form new friendships and improve their knowledge and understanding of their rights and confidence. It runs regular weekly meetings and informative workshops led by SEN professionals. Also, it provides half-term family activities that bring all parents and children together, such as visiting museums, trampoline parks, theme parks, picnicking or running sensory activities at BritSom.

Sessional workers ran a range of activities including: arts, crafts, singing, and soft-play. There were opportunities for the women to talk and gain peer support; they could also share with the group oral stories from their country/ community. The project took place in Barnet and helped to bring people together to create social networks and support.
