THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE ATTACHED AT THE END OF THIS CONSTITUTION AS APPENDIX 2.THE PRESERVATION, CONSERVATION AND EDUCATION OF TRANSPORT ITEMS OF HISTORICAL OR TECHNICAL INTEREST FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN NORTHAMPTON BY:-1. THE DISPLAY OF ITEMS OF HISTORICAL AND TECHNICAL INTEREST WHICH WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO, VEHICLES, BOOKS, DRAWINGS, FILMS, PHOTOGRAPHS AND RECORDINGS OF ALL FORMS OF THE ABOVE SPHERE OF INTEREST;2. ENCOURAGING THE CO-ORDINATION OF THE TRANSPORT PRESERVATION MOVEMENT TO ADVISE AND ASSIST IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE PUBLIC PROMOTION OF THE ABOVE, INCLUDING HOSTING AND DISPLAYS OF HISTORICAL TRANSPORT;3. SEEKING TO PROCURE SUITABLE PREMISES FOR STORAGE, CONSERVATION, DISPLAY, AND ACCESS OF ITS ARTEFACTS FOR LEISURE, EDUCATION AND RESEARCH PURPOSES WITH THE AIM OF ESTABLISHING A MUSEUM;4. EDUCATING IN THE KEY OBJECTIVE BY ENGAGING WITH SCHOOLS, COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES AND LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND GROUPS IN ORDER THAT OUR EXHIBITS, RECORDS, AND KNOWLEDGE CAN BE IMPARTED FOR THE FURTHERANCE OF EDUCATION AND RESEARCH;5. RECOGNISING THE IMPORTANCE OF THE YOUNGER GENERATION IN PROVIDING A FUTURE FOR THE GROUP AND ITS OBJECTIVES BY ENCOURAGING THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL ASPECTS OF ITS OPERATIONS THROUGH ENGAGEMENT AND PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE;6. WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL AUTHORITY REPRESENTATIVES, BUSINESSES, AND COMPATIBLE GROUPS, WITH SIMILAR OBJECTIVES, FOR MUTUAL BENEFIT;7. RAISING FUNDS TO ENABLE IT TO SUPPORT ITS OBJECTIVES; AND8. WORKING INDEPENDENTLY AND NOT SUPPORTING ANY POLITICAL PARTY.NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
