Uprisings 1 Million Mentors (1MM) programme aims to ensure every young person in the country has access to a trained mentor as they transition into adulthood. The projects ambition is to train, recruit and connect a million professionals to a million young people in the UK over the next 10 years to help them maximise their talents. This is to be achieved through their online platform that mobilises mentors, provides online and offline training to drive up mentoring quality, matches them with young people who want a mentor, and provides a framework and ongoing resources to support mentors and mentees. Once the mentor has completed their online training they are matched to a third party organisation working with young people.

UpRising has an employability programme (Fastlaners) that has had great success in getting disadvantaged and unemployed young people into employment and training. It would now like to combine this approach with peer-le mentoring (using UpRising's active body of alumni) in order to strengthen outcomes around sustaining employment.Participants of the programmes will additionally be supported in using their experiences to inform employers of best practice in breaking down barriers to engaging and retaining a more diverse workforce.We would like to run this pilot programme in London, Birmingham and Manchester, serving 600 young poeple over four years, supported by 300 of our alumni.
