Savera UK is a Merseyside-based national charity working to end ‘honour’-based abuse (HBA) and harmful practices and other culturally specific abuse. It aims to eliminate all such practices for good through safeguarding advocacy education and engagement awareness-raising and campaigning for policy attitude and behaviour change. It also provides direct intervention services to survivors and those at risk regardless of age culture sexuality gender or ethnicity. Through this new project the aim is to improve and strengthen Savera’s capacity to reach educate train and support two key target groups - professionals and young people - and equip them with the information and practical tools they need to better respond to ‘honour’- base abuse.
