LEE GREEN LIVES

Lee Green Lives is a community group that aims to bring life back to Leegate, a run-down shopping centre in Lewisham. We campaign to ensure local residents and shops have a say in any redevelopment, and run activities from a community centre, including youth clubs, knitting & sewing, healthy exercises, a drop-in, computer classes, Indian dance - especially targeting the isolated and disadvantaged.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • This charity has been successful in attracting volunteers relative to its size
  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers including the Government
  • The Board appears to be well diversified in terms of gender

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • The Board composition appears to be rather static

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • Income has been volatile and on several occasions in recent years less than spending
