"The Armed Forces Covenant aims to: 1) the Armed Forces Covenant defines the enduring, general principles that should govern the relationship between the Nation, the Government and the Armed Forces community. 2) It aims to encourage all parties within a community to offer support to the local Armed Forces community and make it easier for Service personnel, families and veterans to access the help and support available from the MOD, from statutory providers and from the Charitable and Voluntary Sector. These organisations already work together in partnership at local level. 3) the scheme is intended to be a two-way arrangement and the Armed Forces community are encouraged to do as much as they can to support their community and promote activity which integrates the Service community into civilian life. "

This funding will support Beacon Counselling Trust to offer support to service users bereaved by suicide through continuing Paul’s Place Project. Activities will seek to overcome issues such as isolation suicide prevention and allowing service users to improve mental health through Trek Therapy (walking in green spaces group therapy and suicide advocacy support sessions). The Beacon Counselling Trust (BCT) is a charitable trust that works in the area of mild to moderate mental health issues. They work in close collaboration with NHS statutory organisations and a number of third sector organisations; delivering one to one interventions group and training programmes. Beacon operates from a hub in Liverpool and have satellite sites across the North-West region and Wales. They support young people adults and families.

The expansion and development of an existing project that will provide support for veterans and their families in Liverpool, Merseyside. The project will provide the user with a single point of contact in the form of a buddy who will assist them in co-ordinating and accessing services. The Restore Programme will deliver a number of support and activity programmes in one facility developing a one stop shop that will be open seven days per week.
