HOPS

HOPS supports people to deal with stress, reduce social isolation and improve wellbeing. Offering holistic therapies and therapeutic activities we support unpaid carers, older people, individuals with chronic health conditions and those living through difficult circumstances.Massage, Reiki and Reflexology therapies are complemented by group activity sessions (yoga, meditation, crafts, singing).

There was a coffee and activity session once a month in four locations across Sunderland. This project encouraged peer support and provided carers with opportunities to make new friendships, improve their self-confidence and consider their own self-care. Participants formed a Steering Group, which met quarterly to discuss the development of the project and feedback was gathered each month at the Time Out days.
