The funding will be used to deliver drop-in creativity sessions in Whitchurch for young people aged 8 – 16. The project aims to provide a safe space to participate in positive activities providing diversionary tactics for anti-social behaviour increased confidence and improved community relationships.

This project will deliver creative and sensory education activities to children and young people experiencing deprivation in Shrewsbury. The activities will result in increased confidence, sense of belonging and improved team work.

COVID19 - This grant will fund arts materials and associated session costs to provide more activities to children and young people living in a deprived area who are isolating due to Covid-19, and help them improve family relationships and have fun.

This project will support young people struggling with the transition to adulthood through accessible creative activities to increase confidence, build self-esteem, raise aspirations and build connections with the community. Activities will include music, art, writing, performance and other creative approaches shaped by the participants themselves.

The girls and young women taking part in our project will have: increased knowledge of and interest in music tech (they will learn specific skills around listening for sound quality, timing and rhythm. They will become familiar with digital and acoustic sound and related tech equipment; learn how to throw out and recoil cables) increased access to job and training opportunities related to music tech (this could include music tech related opportunities within current school or college, volunteering opportunities - including here at the Hive or at local festivals, joining in with other projects here at the Hive and taking a lead on music tech roles) increased confidence to try new things (the very act of walking through the door and joining with others to begin learning something completely new is going to shift these young people to a different place. We will support them to challenge themselves in a non-judgmental environment) increased aspirations (our Workshop leaders and the professional community musicians who are around the venue are inspirational role models for young people) improved social and communication skills (as the girls and young women are encouraged to work together and support each other throughout the project. Ultimately a good sound engineer is one part of a team and has to be a good listener and team player to to achieve a good result). gained an Arts-based qualification (there is no pressure to do this but experience tells us that some young people actively want to work towards a qualification and, for many young people we work with this is their first and help them to aspire to others)

The Hive uses music, art and creative media to increase social connections and improve wellbeing._x000D_ The project brings together young people who are experiencing isolation, exclusion and loneliness through specific aspects of their lives.

This project will provide creative and sensory activities for children aged 0-5 in Shrewsbury. Outcomes include improved development, increased interaction and a sense of belonging in the community.

This group will deliver a series of musical workshops for young people with challenging lives. This will encourage self-expression and confidence building by encouraging them to interact with other members of the local community.
