The funding will be used to support the most vulnerable children and their families across North East Worcestershire. It aims to reduce isolation and loneliness by creating social support networks prevent poor mental health increase physical activity improve children’s health and wellbeing and engage hard to reach families. Volunteers will visit families at home facilitate community meetings at safe places and outdoor spaces organise walks and help families develop healthy lifestyles.

This three year project is an expansion of an existing project aiming to improve the confidence of parents and their ability to cope with difficult situations while increasing the knowledge and skills of new volunteers. Befrienders will visit and support families with their problems, linking with other agencies such as health visitors, Samaritans, MIND and Children's Centres to ensure that individual specialised needs are met. The group will be supporting parents with children up to age 13.
