The funding will improve support to adults with lower limb conditions through a volunteer helpline and information and resources with the aim of increasing support reducing isolation and improving mental health.

Steps Charity Worldwide will use £10000 to create and train a network of volunteers from across Wales to provide advice guidance and support to children with lower limb conditions and their families.

The organisation will deliver a programme of volunteer support and a helpline for families that have been adversely impacted by the delays and rescheduled surgeries and treatments of lower limb conditions due to the pandemic with the aim of improving access to emotional and practical support.

This group will use the funding to sustain their volunteer-led support for families and children in Scotland who have lower limb conditions that affect their ability to walk.

Steps will use the £2,000 to ensure that we continue to provide our essential helpline and family support services to the families in Cheshire. Telemedicine is now widely used, and while it has great benefits, parents often say they need another source of information and Steps fill the gaps. In this project we aim to provide the personal support of a volunteer to ensure the parent/patient feels informed and supported, in the absence of face to face appointments we can compliment telemedicine. The funding will allow us to recruit and train new volunteers from the region and to provide volunteers access to online training courses. The funding will allow us to continue to provide a wide range of online resources including videos, films and webinars, and, it allows parents to connect with a volunteer who has experience of the condition. The positive impact of this project is that families, parents and individuals will have information that is not available elsewhere. Our resources will alleviate the stress and isolation that parents experience when children are facing surgery, amputation and years of complex treatment.

This organisation will provide online information and support to parents and carers of children with lower limb conditions across England. The project will support those who have had treatments diagnosis and procedures postponed and been left with limited access to medical professionals due to the Coronavirus epidemic.

This group will use the funding to provide online support to individuals and families with lower limb conditions across Scotland.

Steps Charity Worldwide will create and train a network of volunteers from across South Wales to provide advice guidance and support to children with lower limb conditions and their families. £9900 will fund office supplies family support events IT equipment insurance sessional workers travel expenses and training costs.
