The funding will be used for a coordinator role for the group which delivers support activities for people living with learning disabilities. The funding will refresh the groups volunteer processes and documentation so they can recruit train and support new volunteers. The project aims to increase their offer to support the needs of service users by improving their capacity and sustainability.

This two-year project supports adults with learning disabilities from Great Yarmouth, Gorleston and surrounding areas, to develop and run their own Advocacy Group. Members have control of the group's focus, activities, topics covered and how they want the group to develop and run. They learn new skills, build their confidence and make friends in a supportive environment. The group supports them to access local services and speak up to their local MP and policy makers about issues that concern them in the community and effect positive change.

This organisation is a user-led organisation which is run by people with learning disabilities, for people with learning disabilities. The project runs bespoke training courses for people with learning disabilities living in Norwich and Cromer. The group will use funding to expand the current provision, and develop a new group in Cromer. This will be enable more adults with learning disabilities to learn the knowledge and skills they need to build safe, successful, connected lives.

This two-year project is a weekly user-led community office skills group for adults with learning disabilities in Diss, Norfolk and surrounding areas. The project uses a working office environment to support people with learning disabilities to learn new skills using peer support, which encourages a better understanding of each other’s needs. Activities are focused around improving their literacy and numeracy, building connections with the local community and increasing their confidence and self-esteem through positive relationships. Participants have developed this project idea after taking part in a pilot project and will continue to shape delivery through regular ‘talk and review’ sessions and becoming part of the user-led committee that will steer the project.

This project promotes self advocacy, with the aim that all adults with learning difficulties in Norfolk become confident self advocates, control their own lives and make decisions with support from the people they trust. The project will include training on disability equality and self advocacy skills that help to empower adults with learning difficulties. Members will also receive training about money management and welfare benefits advice during the group's meetings.
