Objectives
(a) the provision of recreational facilities, though the operation, management and maintenance, and where appropriate development, of (i) the sporting, leisure and recreation facility known as “GSC Auldhouse” in the south side of Glasgow comprising the existing four full-size grass pitches and two intended new all-weather “astro” pitches (in process of being built) and the associated on site pavilion comprising changing rooms, showers, meeting rooms and café and community space and (ii) other appropriate leisure, sporting and recreational facilities, primarily focussed within the southern side of Glasgow (including both Glasgow Council and East Renfrewshire Council areas such as Giffnock, Thornliebank, Mansewood, Kennishead, Arden, Hillpark, Cowglen, Eastwood, Pollokshaws) (“the Community”) for the benefit of and use by individual inhabitants of or visitors to the Community and organisations, clubs and groups serving the Community, all on an inclusive and non-discriminatory basis without distinction as to race, sex, religion or belief. (b) the advancement of public participation in sport, primarily (but not limited to) within the Community, by our own efforts and through working and collaborating with other individuals and organisations seeking to advance or support, or facilitating participation in, sport and sporting activities (including working with Giffnock Soccer Centre, a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (registered number SC041587) (“GSC”) in its objectives to increase community participation in sporting activities, including football, for both children and adults, and with local authorities and other voluntary and/or sporting-focused organisations seeking to promote sporting participation, through maintaining and developing our own physical facilities appropriate for, and making available where possible opportunities for, such participation and sharing our experience and expertise in organising and facilitating sporting activity and participation. and (c) the advancement of community development, through utilising and developing our facilities including at GSC Auldhouse in such a way as to encourage and facilitate local community involvement whether providing such facilities as a social and meeting space, a haven for specific groups needing support, a hub to support learning and educational programmes and opportunities, or otherwise in ways to promote, assist and/or enhance community development and cohesion, and in addition whether at our facilities or other appropriate locations developing and running on our own and in collaboration or partnership with other appropriate individuals and organisations (or in other ways supporting the delivery of) social and community programmes and activities, both general and targeted to relevant individuals or groups to address need or demand, particularly from within the Community.
