In addition, the project will offer three six week canoeing programmes delivered by Bush Adventures to six to eight men on each programme.

This two-year project for socially isolated men from a variety of backgrounds in and around the centre of Norwich aims to boost their social connections and sense of belonging, and to build their resilience and sense of value. Through informal activities co-designed and delivered by participants, men can benefit from peer support and opportunities to express vulnerabilities in a safe space. A diverse range of activities are chosen by participants and include heritage walks, mindfulness, yoga, martial arts, storytelling, theatre, photography, music appreciation, visual arts, board games, table tennis, tennis, horticulture, social drop-in sessions, thematic presentations (e.g. budgeting, health checks), pie clubs and random kindness activities. Some activities are targeted at more specific groups, for example 18–30-year-olds, refugees or those who only access mainstream health services infrequently.

This two-year project delivers a social space and other activities offering face-to-face connection around shared interests for men who are socially isolated or experiencing challenges in their lives. Held in venues near the centre of Norwich, the project builds on pilot activities and responds to feedback received from attendees, as well as wider surveys. Many activities, such as led walks, visual arts, music, book and film clubs, community theatre and playing board games, will be planned and delivered by peers, who will form steering groups around each activity and/or location, offering opportunities for informal social connection, to be socially active and to 'give back' to the community.
