ONLY A PAVEMENT AWAY CIO

Mission:

To act as the conduit to help those who find themselves vulnerable and/or disadvantaged and are therefore struggling to get into work
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • The charity has received backing from several prominent grant makers recently
  • There has been strong growth in spending since inception
  • The Board appears to be well diversified in terms of gender and dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Although this charity works with volunteers it does not have a Volunteer Management policy
  • There are 13 trustees whereas the Charities Commission recommends a maximum of 12
  • Over half the Board have joined recently

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data

How do they operate?

Employment Programme

Objectives: To act as an effective conduit between hospitality employers and charities working with those facing disadvantage and find them jobs within the hospitality, pub and restaurant industry
