FISHING INTO THE FUTURE

Our mission is the 'Chart a course towards sustainable and prosperous UK fisheries'. We work with industry and a range of stakeholders to take action that makes a difference at critical points in relation to our mission. We work mainly in the fields of industry generated data, industry innovations, training for sustainability and providing a coordination and stakeholder engagement mechanism.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers including the Government
  • The Board appears to be dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Although this charity works with volunteers it does not have a Volunteer Management policy
  • Why are there 35 trustees whereas the Charities Commission recommends a maximum of 12?
  • Over half the Board have joined recently

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
