HOME-START ELMBRIDGE

We offer support to families living in the Borough of Elmbridge in Surrey who have a child under 5 years old. Most families are referred to us by health visitors or social workers. Support is usually provided by weekly two-hour visits from a volunteer and the type of support will be decided upon by the family in consultation with the volunteer.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • This charity has been successful in attracting volunteers relative to its size
  • There has been reasonable growth in spending over the last 3 years relative to the previous period
  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers including the Government and there are significant future grants due to be received
  • The Board appears to be dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • The Board is predominantly female
  • The Board has little diversity in terms of age

Financial issues to consider:

  • Income has been volatile recently and was significantly lower than spending in the latest year
  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
