DERBY TOC H CHILDREN'S CAMP

We provide an annual, summer camping holiday for less-advantaged children from the Derby area. The children are selected to attend the camp by liaison with their schools.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • This charity has been successful in attracting volunteers relative to its size
  • The charity has received modest backing from a grant maker recently
  • The Board appears to be well diversified in terms of gender and dynamic in terms of composition

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Although this charity works with volunteers it does not have a Volunteer Management policy
  • Why are there 16 trustees whereas the Charities Commission recommends a maximum of 12?

Financial issues to consider:

  • On several occasions in recent years income has been less than spending
  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
