SWINDON SPORTS FORUM (SSF)

The Forum is run by a committee to help sport and physical activity in Swindon. We are independent, with strong partners who help us make a difference. We regularly attract and distribute funding to local sport clubs and groups. We hold regular club development courses that help with accreditation and governance, and hold regular forums where members meet and give feedback.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • This charity has been very successful in attracting volunteers relative to its size
  • A significant proportion of recent income was derived from major grant makers including the Government

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Although this charity works with volunteers it does not have a Volunteer Management policy
  • The Board composition appears to be rather static

Financial issues to consider:

  • Income has been volatile recently and was significantly lower than spending in the latest year
  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
