£15,000	28/07/2023	This project will focus on supporting currently inactive children and young people in highly deprived areas of Leeds to gain the basic skills and competence which will enable them to effectively take part in mainstream sport and physical activity. ....more This project will focus on supporting currently inactive children and young people in highly deprived areas of Leeds to gain the basic skills and competence which will enable them to effectively take part in mainstream sport and physical activity. Over the course of the year 2 x cohorts of 20 inactive children will engage in 3 sessions per week (2 after school and 1 at the weekend) for 20 weeks. Sessions will last an hour and will feature a mix of activity and fun games designed to improve balance, co-ordination, agility and technique.

Objectives

3.1 THE PROMOTION OF COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN HEALTHY RECREATION BY PROVIDING FACILITIES FOR THE PLAYING OF ATHLETICS AND OTHER SPORTS CAPABLE OF IMPROVING HEALTH (“FACILITIES” IN THIS CLAUSE MEANS LAND, BUILDINGS AND EQUIPMENT AND ORGANIZING SPORTING ACTIVITIES); AND3.2 TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLE AND OTHER PERSONS IN PARTICULARLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY SUPPORTING SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES TO ACHIEVE EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES WITHIN THEIR PHYSICAL EDUCATION SYLLABI.
