The Historic Landscape Project (HLP) capacity builds County Gardens Trusts (CGTs) and Gardens Trust (GT) members across England to work proactively to conserve historic landscapes. This is largely delivered through 1:1 support for CGTs, facilitation of internal and external networks, training resources, profile raising, and helping CGTs with engagement. The Gardens Trust is committed to long-term growth in the conservation activities of both itself and the County Gardens Trusts and is working to develop this strategically, on a sustainable footing. We seek critical funding from Historic England to allow for the creation and nurturing of broad, secure and skilled networks between CGTs, the GT and the wider sector as the basis for our wider capacity building and conservation work. In particular, we will initiate and support key collaborative initiatives amongst the CGTs and share these models as an exemplar for other CGTs.
