THE TOY APPEAL

We receive money donations via our just giving website, gifts via toy drop centres. We raise awareness via media, TV and our web site. We run toy sort days where volunteers sort and categorise the toys into type and age group. We work with social workers, drop in centres and schools to identify children in need of our help. In December we make up and distribute toy sacks in time for Christmas.
Analysis by Giving is Great

Positives:

  • This charity has been successful in attracting volunteers relative to its size
  • The charity has received modest backing from a grant maker recently
  • There has been strong growth in spending since inception
  • There have been no material income shortfalls in recent years

Regulatory & Governance issues to consider:

  • Although this charity works with volunteers it does not have a Volunteer Management policy
  • There are only 4 trustees

Financial issues to consider:

  • A PartB annual return has not been required and so detailed financial information is not available from the online data
  • Income was significantly lower than spending in the latest year
