....more
In removing barriers to encourage women who may feel excluded to participate in this project we will be providing disadvantaged/under-represented women with enhanced opportunities, to improve life chances, support economic development and promote social inclusion. Educational sessions will help improve skills and inspire self-help and local development, which will have a positive/lasting effect on individuals, families and the wider community in general. This project will support women to identify/achieve their career aspirations; sessions will provide opportunities for women who may be socially excluded to engage in positive initiatives to develop their self-confidence, life-skills and assist them to access paid employment. With our support, we will enable women of all abilities to shape their future lives and assist them to; gain new transferable skills, increase knowledge and improve their health/well-being. Delivery of this project would mean that we would be able to address issues we have identified in relation to women facing disadvantage in securing employment opportunities. We feel that this project will also give women more opportunity to have a better chance in life; increasing social cohesion therefore reducing social isolation. Providing learning/educational sessions to under-represented/disadvantaged women in an informal setting will enable women to start their own individual learning journey and provide them with the opportunity to proceed onto accessing; other educational courses, higher education, obtain qualifications at a degree level and obtain paid employment. Expected outcomes: Improved knowledge/transferable skills for under-represented women through the provision of accessible/timely education, training and/or learning opportunities. Positive learning experiences will enable women to feel less isolated and more empowered to better their future lives. Disadvantaged women will have better mental health/well-being through accessing positive activities to reduce poverty and their own economic situation. Women who feel excluded will have more opportunities to increase their life chances, self-esteem, sense of purpose and achievement.
