The funding will be used to deliver free weekly clinical supervision sessions for 12 months for bilingual qualified counsellors. The counsellors are from ethnic minority backgrounds (many of which are refugees themselves) who are struggling with the current economic landscape which is impacting on their health and well-being. The funding will help sustain the counsellor's to continue in their role to support the wider community providing sessions in mother tongue to overcome language barriers.

Individual counselling, group support and case work services for refuges and asylum seekers who are survivors of war, persecution and inter-communal conflict will be expanded across London. The experience of torture and displacement from the home country leave clients feeling they have lost control of the lives, causing severe anxiety, trauma and distress. The intervention this project plans will alleviate the isolating personal affects and encourage social cohesion and integration into the community.
