Everyone involved so far counts up to 8 dancers and this will contribute in paying them a fair fee for their rehearsal and performance time. Some will go towards costumes to really make the performance popping and result in educating the audience better.

Artists will be both artists from Manchester and from around the UK Funds from Manchester Pride will be allocated exclusively to paying artists and covering travel costs.
24/11/2023 £742 TO BEE PRODUCTIONS LTD The grant will be used to support the development and rehearsal process for our upcoming show “Queen of the Desert a Queer Cabaret”, which will celebrate Manchester’s LGBTQIA+ community as part of LGBT+ History Month in February. The cabaret features drag, music, burlesque and poetry, with cabaret artists developing stories that are interwoven to songs to tackle intersectional topics that affect the wider LGBTQIA+ communities.

This initiative aims to explore different perspectives and experiences of Chemsex, focusing on the role, intimacy, and consent in queer sex and relationships.

These gatherings will provide a safe and welcoming space for the LGBTQ+ community to come together, socialise, and create community through food.

13/10/2023 £1,000 STOCKPORT ACTIVE CIC T/A LIFE LEISURE This organisation is working with a local Pupil Referral Unit for young people with social and emotional needs. The majority of the pupils are part of the LGBTQ+ community with limited or no access to physical activities or sports. This grant will also improve the library in the school and purchase books around identity, sexuality, and sexual health. Lastly, young people have requested some training for the LGBTQ+ lead in the school to help better equip teachers for the future, who will in turn help more young people, leaving a lasting legacy in the school.
13/10/2023 £1,000 THE UNTOLD ORCHESTRA CIC The Superbia Grant will enable The Untold Orchestra to run four workshops for queer people. In these workshops, participants will discuss ideas, understand barriers to engaging with different creative spaces, and participate in drop-in choir sessions led by a queer facilitator who also performs with the orchestra.

Torn apart by a hate crime, Orpheus refuses to let death be the end. But in refusing to accept the inevitable, she loses so much more than her partner ;This play is a love letter to butch/femme relationships and queer friendships, exploring how love leaves us both uniquely fulfilled and uniquely vulnerable.

Village Manchester Football Club was formed in February 1996 to give gay and bi guys the chance to play and support the sport they love in a safe, welcoming environment. Since then, we’ve grown massively, and now have four teams giving players of all abilities the chance to play football. These days, we’re delighted to welcome many straight allies whilst remaining Manchester’s gay-friendly football club.

The young people will engage in workshops around: Positive and Healthy relationships, drug and alcohol use, sexual health, and wellbeing, see the musical and share ways to promote positive wellbeing amongst their peers.

The choral workshop poses a strong and meaningful engagement opportunity for transitioning adults – helping them to maintain their identity as a singer and encourage them to ‘find their voice’ outside of gender binary. Beyond the skills and techniques participants will develop from the session, singing provides an inclusive and cost-effective means of combating social isolation.

They’ve been here since 1986 and thousands of men have used the group. The grant will be used to fund the printing of new resources to offer advice and signpost to support services.
26/05/2023 £700 PRESTWICH PRIDE CIC Prestwich pride is a grassroots organisation in its infancy, with 2023 planned as the second year of celebration. First conceived by a group of LGBT, friends and allies from the Prestwich locality, its aims are to promote visibility, spread love, and provide a safe space for people from all reaches of both the LGBT community, and the local community to unite, collect, and express themselves freely.

28/04/2023 £1,000 MANCHESTER PRAIRIE DOGS LINE DANCING CLUB Everyone is welcome at Manchester, Prairie dogs! Many of our group members state that the support networks and friendships within the group are extremely beneficial to their mental health, and the weekly chance to socialise is sometimes more important than dancing! We hold a regular beginners night every September, following pride, I would like to use this as an opportunity to extend a special invite to members of the QTIPOC community.
28/04/2023 £1,000 OUT IN THE CITY Out In The City is a social and support group for members of the LGBT+ community who are over 50 years of age. We currently have 104 members, 33 of whom are over 70 years of age, the oldest is 93. We have members from all walks of life, many of us having lived through a time where homosexuality was illegal. The community fund will be used to organise our weekly meetings and trips to reduce our social isolation improving our confidence and mental well-being.

The group is dedicated to intersectional support across all communities and willing to work with other organisations and charities to further education on issues facing the LGBT Muslim community. Each week they run free art workshops and are now looking to expand their engagement in the North. The community fund will be used to commission young artist to facilitate workshops. The project will introduce young LGBT people to them as a reliable, accessible, queer youth service and radical free education.
