This will include one to one counselling sessions, practical support, advocacy and group activities such as arts and gardening. It will also teach survivors techniques to manage their anxiety, build confidence and feel more in control.

Support staff will also be recruited, with the manager overseeing the day to day operation of the facility.

It aims to ensure that people are supported emotionally and practically to become survivors of domestic abuse.

Activities will continually evolve based on participants’ ideas and include one to one befriending, telephone befriending and social activities including trips.

Two youth clubs will also be delivered once a week with ages five to 11 years (juniors) and 12 to 18 years (seniors) being held on different evenings mid-week and weekends respectively.

The project is improving people’s mental and physical wellbeing and skills.

Members will be mentored and will help organise activities of their choice to improve their social life and help them become more independent. Activities include life skills such as handling money, safety awareness, healthy eating, and support for their workplaces/placements.

This is offering people in Loughgiel and surrounding areas a range of activities to help improve health and wellbeing, fitness and skills and also to bring people together. The activities are being held in the Millennium Centre in the village, and people are helping decide which type of activities they would like to take part in.
