We have 11 Trustees who give up their free time to help out the ....more Black Isle Cares’ Meals-On-Wheels (MoW) is a locally based project run in partnership between Black Isle Cares and local restaurants. We have 11 Trustees who give up their free time to help out the communities of the Black Isle. We started the rollout of the MoW at the beginning of May and have had very positive informal feedback. The project continues to expand. We already deliver restaurant prepared lunches to 25 clients with help from our local volunteers within local villages. These two course meals cost our elderly five pounds - currently we deliver on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. we have to run at a loss to keep the meals going and fund raise 3 times a year to off set monies for this but would need more money as we expand out to all the local villages.

The organisation?s specific Charitable purposes are: to provide relief to those in health or social care need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, rural isolation and other disadvantages. We will achieve these purposes by 1. Supporting adults with social needs and their carers 2. Challenging the barriers surrounding the care of this group 3. Identifying gaps in care provision and seeking ways to fill these 4. Increasing resources to provide for the needs of our target group 5. Liaising with Highland's most respected charity lobbying for involvement of older people in the design and provision of their own care: Highland Senior Citizens' Network (HSCN)
