As such we need to continue to refine how we work, our premises and equipment. Specifically we need funds for the following: 1. In order to deal with the increased number of deliveries of food parcels to drop off points at our distribution and emergency centres as well as collection of donations, we need to hire a van one more day a week. 2. We need to purchase new trolleys. We simply do not have enough of these in either the warehouse or our 8 distribution centres. They are vital for the movement of crates for our volunteers, in particular for our older volunteers. We must ensure we have the appropriate equipment so our volunteers can work safely. 3. Due to the number of sites we now have, we require more signage. We would like to, at a minimum, procure a new banner and to get more flexible signage for each foodbank, so that we have consistent signs making it easier for our clients to locate each foodbank. 4. Due to the increased demand for volunteers to run this service, we require to purchase new branded aprons and fleeces. 5. Due to the increased demand for our services and the widespread rural areas within West Lothian, we also need to open at least two new centres in 2017. We would anticipate these to be East Calder and Armadale/Blackridge. 6. As we need to hire additional staff in 2017, we require more IT equipment. The above items are essential to the continued safe running of the Foodbank and to the very necessary development we require in 2017.
