Objectives

This article 4 shall be interpreted as if it incorporated an over-riding qualification limiting the powers of the Company such that any activity which would otherwise be permitted by the terms of this article may be carried on only if that activity furthers a purpose which is regarded as a Charitable Purpose. Subject to that over-riding qualification, the Company's objects are: (1) to relieve poverty among the residents of the Operating Area. (2) to advance education among the residents of the Operating Area, particularly among young people and the unemployed . (3) to promote and/or provide training in skills in all kinds, particularly such skills as will assist residents of the Operating Area in obtaining paid employment. (4) to promote, establish and operate other schemes of a charitable nature for the benefit of the community within the Operating Area. and (5) the relief of those in financ ial hardship, suffering discrimination through residing in areas of multiple deprivation, by encouraging inward investment and business start-ups to take place in the Operating Area .
