We aim to have improved access to local services and uptake of activities for girls and young woman in the programme. Outcome- 20 young girls become members of the local gym. 70% of girls and young woman feel better able to challenge boys/ men's attitude towards them in a more controlled and confident way. 20 young girls are not involved in criminal activity 20 young girls have taken part in sexual health training 60% Improved school attendance 15 young woman will become peer leaders 15 young girls present a newsletter at a local neighbourhood meeting 20young woman will visit the Scottish parliament and present their findings of local research work around woman's stereotypical roles in deprived communities. Through this programme 'Girls Succeed in Life' we aim to see decreased levels of gender based violence locally, building skills for life programme for all young woman age 11 years and above to 24 years. We aim to see the positive long term affects on the economic and social wellbeing of girls and their families. Too often we can look outwith our country and further afield but we see it at first hand on a daily basis young woman and girls being victimised for their gender and they are caught up in stereotypical roles which have been passed down from families within deprived communities. Many of the girls mums are in low paid, low skilled jobs and never get out of the cycle of deprivation as they are too scared to challenge, or don't have the confidence or self belief that they are worth anything better, we want to change this for the better and for future generations to challenge and break the tradition and the normal values placed upon communities like ours.
