Objectives

(a) To offer support, information to any women, children and young people affected by domestic abuse. (b) the promotion of equality between the sexes. (c) the relief of those in need as a result of having been affected by domestic abuse and particularly to provide temporary refuge for women and children where they have suffered domestic abuse (mental, physical or sexual abuse). (d) To encourage women to determine their own futures and to provide support to help them do so. (e)To seek to provide for the educational and emotional needs of children and young people affected by domestic abuse. (f)To encourage statutory authorities and other agencies to recogn ise their obligations , legal and otherwise, towards women, children and young people affected by domestic abuse and to work towards the prevention of such abuse . (g)To encourage research into the causes, prevention and relief of domestic abuse and to promulgate research results and promote research-based education. (h) To encourage training both for SAWA and other agencies as will best meet the objects of SAWA.
