4 the relief of poverty arising from deprivation among the citizens of Aberdeen and surrounding areas through: - the social and professional integration of disabled or disadvantaged individuals through employment and training opportunities. The employment of individuals with skills necessary to offer a service of advice, information and advocacy to persons experiencing problems due to poverty. to provide material resources and practical assistance towards the establishment and support of tenants in rented accommodation. to provide contact, advice and resources to assist families affected by poverty to provide proper care to their children and to gather information about the extent of poverty and its associated problems. the provision of furniture, household goods and appliances that will be distributed free of charge or sold at low cost to people in need and facilities for the recycling, repair and restoration of donated goods and to develop and provide supported and employment in such a facility. providing emergency food supplies, essential toiletries and household items to individuals in need and/or charities or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty. to advance health through encouraging healthy eating, stopping smoking, and promoting good living habits and a healthy environment to improve families’ general health. the relief of need of individuals in the Aberdeen area who are disable or disadvantaged, in particular: disabled or disadvantaged persons through the provisions of meaningful employment opportunities and training to gain employment. children from birth to 18 years because of financial hardship, during the Christmas period, through the provision of gifts, and promoting and raising awareness in the community that the need exists. the advancement of environmental protection through the reuse, repair and recycling of household goods such as furniture, white goods, and carpets, children's equipment, and toys.
