    GLEN DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE 

    1. To relieve poverty, sickness and help the aged; and to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Glen and City area of Co. Derry and its environs (hereinafter described as �the area of benefit�) without distinction of age, gender, race, political, religious or other opinion, by associating together the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to enhance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare, for recreation or other leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. 2. To establish or secure the establishment of a Community Centre (hereinafter called �the Centre� and to maintain and manage or co-operate with any local or statutory authority in the maintenance and management of such a Centre for activities promoted by the Company and its constituent bodies.
